Liquid Screed – (Aftercare)
Aftercare Guide
- Ensure all openings are closed for the first 24 hours of laying the screed.
Then open windows to allow moist air to escape.
- You can walk on the floor after 24 hours.
- We would recommend that tradesmen are kept off the floor for at least 36 hours
to allow the floor to gain sufficient strength for heavy duty activities
- Underfloor heating can be turned on gently after 7 days. This will speed up the
drying time.
Drying Time
- Drying times are greatly affected by site conditions.
- Heat and low humidity can improve drying times.
- Low temperatures and high humidity can prolong drying times.
- The depth of the floor will depend on how long the floor will take to dry.
- As a guideline it is 1mm per day up to 40mm, and then 0.5mm per day after that, e.g. a floor which has been laid at 50mm thick will take 60 days to dry.
Tips for drying
- Use underfloor heating if possible.
- Dehumidifiers can be used.
- Good ventilation.
